High School Student Film Festival

What: Nearly 30 films created by high school students across the state will be shown and judged. Winners will include best film, runner-up, three finalists and a public service announcement award.

When: Saturday at noon

Where: Red River Theatres, Concord

Cost: $7


Beethoven’s 9th Symphony

What: The New Hampshire Philharmonic Orchestra – joined by four professional soloists and an all-volunteer chorus, including 20 Concord High School chamber singers – will present a beloved piece of music. You might recognize it from its “Ode to Joy” movement.

When and Where: Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Stockbridge Theatre in Derry and May 27 at 2 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium.

Cost: $12 to $50


Who’s Line is it Anyway?

What: Comedians Fran Page, Allison Deller and JT Turner will perform an improvisational comedy show hosted by local radio personality Pat Kelly with Interlakes Summer Theatre.

When: Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Where: Pitman’s Freight Room, Laconia

Cost: $20, BYOB

“Once on this Island, Jr.”

What: The Purple Finches chorus, divided into two casts, will perform a Tony-nominated musical of Ti Moune, a peasant girl, who falls in love with Daniel, a wealthy boy from the other side of the island.

When: Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., and Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Mersey Beatles

What: Liverpool, England-based Mersey Beatles are the closest you’ll get to the real Beatles. They’re even endorsed by John Lennon’s sister, Julia Baird. They’ll play Beatles’ greatest hits.

When: Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Where: Flying Monkey Performance Arts Center, Plymouth

Cost: $36 and $49


KhanCord Day

What: A bundle of activities headlined by a screening of “Star Trek II: Wrath of Khan” and William Shatner Q&A. Try themed burgers for Area 23 and the Barley House. Get a Khan-cone from Ballard’s Ice Cream and check out other specials and display around town. There will also be a Khanned Food Drive for the Friendly Kitchen.

When: Friday at 7 p.m.

Where: Capitol Center for the Arts, Concord

Cost: $59 and up


“Stage, Screen and Beyond”

What: Lakes Region Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Benjamin Greene and joined by Abigail Dufresne will perform an eclectic mix of Broadway themes and Pops-style songs.

When: Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.

Where: Inter-Lakes Auditorium, Meredith

Cost: $20 adults, $10 students
