Epsom residents will get to weigh in on the proposed town and school budgets and warrant articles on Thursday night during a public hearing held at the Town Offices.

The $3.84 million town proposal is 3.9% higher than the current budget. Two warrant articles propose adding an additional full-time police officer and a full time firefighter.

The budget hearing is the first of three public steps in the SB2 process of Town Meeting. A deliberative session, at which voters can debate and modify the budget and warrant articles, will be held Saturday, Feb. 4. Voting by ballot on the budget and warrant articles will take place on election day, Tuesday, March 14.

The budget hearing will be held in the cafeteria at the Town Offices at 940 Suncook Valley Highway beginning at 6:30 p.m. The town will swear in new police Chief Brian Michael at 6:15 p.m.
