A Bow family fled home early Wednesday morning after smoke filled the residence, according to fire officials.

The Bow Fire Department responded to a report of a building fire at 64 White Rock Hill Road – a single story home owned by Melissa Auclair – about 4:48 a.m., according to the department.

Firefighters arrived within five minutes to find smoke coming from the home and quickly called a second alarm. The family of three had already fled the building, officials said.

Firefighters found the fire to be contained to the home’s utility room in the basement, and it was brought under control and extinguished by 5:11 a.m., according to the Bow Fire Department.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
