Learn about school budgets in Weare, Henniker

School districts for Weare, Henniker and John Stark Regional High School invite the public this week to learn about the school budgets coming up this year and ask questions. These are informal public information sessions in advance of the deliberative sessions in February.

Henniker Community School: Jan. 25 and Feb. 1 from 8:10 to 8:45 a.m. at the school with Deb Urbaitis, chair of the Henniker school board and member of the John Stark school board.

Weare and John Stark: Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. at the Weare Public Library (10 Paige Memorial Lane) with members of the school boards.

SAU 24 Superintendent Dr. Lorraine Tacconi-Moore will be at the White Birch Center, 51 Hall Ave., Henniker, on Jan. 29 at 10:30 a.m. for an informal talk about the proposed Henniker and John Stark budgets.

The deliberative sessions are set for: Henniker School District, Feb. 4; Weare School District, Feb. 6; John Stark School District, Feb. 8. All sessions begin at 7 p.m. and are held in the respective school’s cafeteria.

Deliberative sessions are for explaining, discussing, debating and amending the proposed operating budget and warrant articles before ballot voting in March. Articles based on contractual agreements cannot be amended.
