High schools: Hebert, LaClair lead MV boys to 62-44 win over Hanover

Jake Hebert and Caleb LaClair combined for 32 points to lead the Merrimack Valley boys’ basketball team to a 62-44 win over Hanover on Tuesday.

The Pride (8-1) held control throughout, highlighted by a 20-point third quarter that put the game out of reach for the Marauders (3-3).

Ryan Defina also hit double figures for MV with 11 points while Kyle Dube chipped in eight.

“It’s a good start to a big week for us,” MV coach Tim Mucher said.

The Pride have the next two days off before traveling to Bishop Brady on Friday and Pembroke on Saturday.


Pittsfield 76, Epping 63

Key players: Pittsfield – Cam Darrah (30 points, 10 assists, 7 rebounds), Dylan Bocash (17 points, 10 rebounds), Garrett Hadley (11 points, 11 assists)

Highlights/key moments: Pittsfield led 42-31 at the half thanks in large part to a 24-point performance from Darrah in the first half. The Panthers scored 25 in the third quarter and led by 22 with 5:38 to go in the fourth before both team took out their starters. The teams meet again Friday in Pittsfield.

Coe-Brown 55, Souhegan 35

Key players: Coe-Brown – Ahna McCusker (19 points, 11 rebounds), Val White (12 points, 7 rebounds), Lauren Curtin (11 points), Sydney Gast (7 points, 4 rebounds)

Highlights/key moments: Coe-Brown took a 12-7 lead in the first quarter and added a 14-4 run in the second.
