Concord Alpine teams each ski to first place

With four skiers finishing inside the top five, the Concord boys’ Alpine team cruised to victory during Thursday’s seven-team meet at Pat’s Peak.

The Concord girls’ team also won, but was joined by Pinkerton in a tie for first place with 378 points.

Kevin McDonough (first overall, 48.90 seconds), Neil Shea (second, 49.33), Liam Devanny (fourth, 50.73) and Sean McDonough (fifth, 50.94) all produced strong results in their two giant slalom runs on the single course to help the Tide finish with 392 points – 16 ahead of runner-up Pinkerton.

For the Tide girls, Savanah Shannon, Grace Devanny, Sophia Shea and Frederica Cassina all scored major points with Shannon (second overall, 50.78) leading the charge.

Grace Devanny finished sixth overall with a two-run time of 54.41, while Sophia Shea (eighth, 56.18) and Cassina (10th, 1:00.32) followed.
