End of Summer Concert Series kicks off Wednesday in Contoocook

The five-week End of Summer Concert Series in Contoocook is back for a second year and begins tonight at the Lewellen Bandstand.

The outdoor concert series, put on by the Contoocook Chamber of Commerce, the Merle Dustin Trust and H.C. Clough, features a variety of Granite State musicians and styles from country music and folk to jazz and blues.

Concerts are held each Wednesday at 6 p.m. beginning this week through Sept. 11.

The April Cushman Band kicks off the series this week bringing Cushman’s country tunes to the bandstand, followed by the rock band Dressed for the Occasion on Aug. 21. The Tall Granite Big Band will perform swing music and jazz on Aug. 28. The Eric Lindbderg Trio, a funk and rhythm and blues band, takes the stage Sept. 4. Dwayne Higgins brings his rockabilly sound on Sept. 11 to close the series.

The Dos Amigos food truck will be set up in Contoocook Village for each concert. Concerts are free and open to all ages.
