A Londonderry man faces a drunken driving charge following a single-car crash early Sunday morning on Interstate 93 in Concord.

Dylan Lally, 21, attempted to merge onto I-93 South from the I-393 West ramp when the crash occurred at about 2:30 a.m., police said. Lally lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway and traveled across both southbound lanes of I-93 before striking a guardrail. The vehicle came to rest in the middle of the highway.

When troopers arrived on scene, they observed the vehicle blocking the highway. The southbound lanes were temporarily shut down for a period of time to allow for rescue crews to remove the vehicle, which sustained extensive damage, police said.

Lally was ultimately charged with DWI and an open container violation.

He was transported by ambulance to Concord Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
