The “vast majority” of staff from the Laconia and Franklin hospitals will be staying on after Concord Hospital takes over.

Concord Hospital said this week that 100 physicians and advanced providers have joined the two hospitals that are part of LRGHealthcare, which will be renamed Concord Hospital-Laconia and Concord Hospital-Franklin if the proposed acquisition goes through.

“Additionally, 1,070 employment offers have been extended to LRGHealthcare employees to work for Concord Hospital-Laconia and Concord Hospital-Franklin. This constitutes the vast majority of LRGHealthcare’s staff,” Concord Hospital’s statement said.

LRGHealthcare declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy last year due largely to the costs associated with some $128 million in debt. Concord Hospital offered to buy LRGH for $30 million. Approval by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office is expected by May 1.

“With these providers and employees joining Concord Hospital, the provision of care within communities will not be disrupted," said Robert P. Steigmeyer, President and CEO of Concord Hospital.

“Patients will continue to see a majority of their providers and will be able to access services at the hospitals in Laconia and Franklin. That’s what we had hoped for,” explained Kevin W. Donovan, LRGHealthcare’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
