Letter: Rails over trails

Tuesday, July 10, 2018

The article written by Daniel Ellis (Monitor Opinion, June 23) was well-written and informative. Hiking and walking trails are nice and also important, but there are enough places without destroying our rail lines.

I believe this state would be better economically if we offered rail service from Lincoln down to Massachusetts. It’s way past time that state politicians and leaders get behind this. It will help our state grow. We need rail service for passengers and freight service.

Let’s set up a GoFundMe page and a P.O. box for contributions from the businesses and people who want this. This is my point of view – let’s hear from others.
