Letter: Gasholder is not worth saving

I agree with Brent Edmonds (Monitor letters, Jan. 19) that there is no good reason to save the gasholder building.

As an only child, every summer I had cousins come stay with our family for a couple of weeks for company. My mother always made sure we visited the historic buildings in the city. We toured the State House, the State Library, and the Historical Society. Even though many in my father’s family had worked for the gas company, not once did we go to the gasholder building.

Let Liberty Utilities use their money to remove it and return the anonymous donation from “outside the country.” This old, decayed building isn’t worth it.
