Letter: Poetic advice: Use your right to vote

Thank you to the Monitor and to Mike Pride and Wesley McNair for writing about Donald Hall (July 1), marvelous poet now deceased.

I used to visit and take him apple pie. He’d been my teacher at Goddard College. I have to say that as we came up to the last election, he always and with fervor told me we must have Hillary for president. For him it was urgent that we not lose the U.S. Supreme Court’s next appointments to the Republicans, to Donald Trump. Our good poet actually died before Justice Kennedy’s retirement notice was given and before those decisions that would not have been to Don’s liking.

To honor Donald Hall, everyone vote, use that right. Vote mindfully and with our young country’s best future in mind.
