Police say a decade of sexual assault allegations have surfaced against a New Hampton man.

Robert “Bob” Ely, 60, is charged with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and one count of felonious sexual assault. He is accused sexually assaulting two different children, who were between the ages of 11 and 13 at the time, police said.

Ely was arraigned Thursday morning in 4th Circuit Court District Division in Laconia, where Judge James Carroll set bail at $5,000. If he posts bail, Ely is prohibited from having any contact with children under the age of 16. He is also restricted from any group activities where children may be present, Carroll ordered.

The Belknap County Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case.

The case remains under investigation. New Hampton police ask anyone with information to contact them at 524-8585.
