The investigation by the Merrimack County attorney’s office into an alleged domestic violence incident between a Dover police officer and his wife could be completed as soon as the end of this week.

Merrimack Deputy County Attorney George B. Waldron said he’ll decide what should happen with the case once he concludes his investigation.

Rollinsford Police arrested Sarah Letendre, 34, at the couple’s home July 10 and charged her with simple assault and other charges in connection with the incident. But Sarah Letendre and her family said R.J. Letendre, a former mixed martial arts fighter, was the aggressor in the incident, during which she suffered multiple fractured ribs.

“It (the investigation) could potentially lead to dropping charges, it wouldn’t lead to me charging anybody else at this point,” he said about the investigation into the incident involving Dover police officer R.J. Letendre and his estranged wife, Sarah Letendre. “I think I should have a good idea by the end of this week what I’m going to do.”
