An elderly man was found dead in a Concord home Monday after authorities received reports of an extinguished fire.

The Concord Fire Department was dispatched to 7 Trinity St. at approximately 10:30 a.m. Monday after one of the building’s occupants arrived home to find the interior filled with smoke, Battalion Chief Sean Brown said. The fire originated in and was confined to the home’s kitchen, and was not active at the time the occupant arrived home, officials said.

When authorities arrived at the scene, they found an elderly man deceased in the kitchen.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the man. Records show that the home belongs to Mira and Leonard Braunstein.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday afternoon to positively identify the victim and make proper notification of the family, Brown said. There is no evidence of foul play, Brown said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
