Matt Millette and James White didn’t let a football rivalry get in the way of a good day of fishing.

Friends since high school, Millette, a die-hard Patriots fan, and White, a Dallas Cowboys fan, had plenty of time to jab at each other at the 40th annual Webster Lake Fishing Derby in Franklin on Saturday. The pair got to the lake at 5 a.m. to participate for the first time at the event. Millette was already thinking about next year.

“I’m going to build a bob house so we can stay overnight next year,” he said.
