The widely publicized search for a missing Loudon teenager Alec White was called off Sunday after his body was found in the woods near his home.

State and local authorities began their search for White on Friday afternoon. The 16-year-old boy was last seen on Route 129 in Loudon, according to reports.

Fish and Game, New Hampshire State Police, and first responders from Loudon called off the search late Sunday morning after the boy’s body was found about a quarter mile from his home, New Hampshire Fish and Game Lt. Scott LaCrosse said Monday.

Foul play is not suspected.

Counselors will be available to meet with students at Merrimack Valley High School, Superintendent Mark McLean said by email Monday. White was primarily home-schooled and attended some classes through the Concord Regional Technical Center.
