SAU 24’s Tacconi-Moore named N.H. Superintendent of the Year

SAU 24 Superintendent Lorraine Tacconi-Moore has been named the state’s Superintendent of the Year for 2019 by the New Hampshire School Administrators Association.

Tacconi-Moore, who currently serves as an executive board member and is president-elect of the NHSAA, will receive a special award during the American Association of School Administrators National Conference on Education in Los Angeles in February. She heads the administrative unit covering schools in Weare, Henniker and Stoddard, as well as John Stark Regional High School

“Lorraine has a strong focus on doing what is best for kids,” Marjorie Burke, chair of the Weare and SAU 24 school boards, said in a statement released Friday. “Their needs are first and foremost in all her efforts to provide optimum opportunities for learning.”

Tacconi-Moore earned a doctorate of education from UMass-Lowell and was assistant superintendent of schools in Westford, Mass., before taking the top job at SAU 24 in 2010.
