Respectful dissent

Is taking a knee to be applauded as a peaceful, respectful and nonviolent reminder of the conversation that we as a nation must have regarding racism in America?

Would anyone be offended if someone “different” moved next door? Would you invite your new neighbors in for a welcome? Would you give your new neighbors a pie or party, or invite them to dinner? Would you talk about today’s issues, and listen to views with which you disagree? Are not the brothers who take a knee, and their colleagues who link arms in support, doing just that, and are we not all better for it?

Why is it okay to speak your mind in a letter to the editor, tweet, post, etc., but not to silently and respectfully take a knee and pray?
