Toward racial fairness

Thank you, Robert Azzi, for your column “Being white means never saying you’re sorry” (Sunday Monitor Forum, Nov. 5). As a white person who speaks with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, I am grateful to you for taking the time to describe what I have also noticed. I expect that there will be accusations that you are making our racial climate worse by naming it, but the person who diagnoses an illness is not creating it. I persist in believing we can move toward more fairness, and part of this journey is observing where it is currently missing.
