A gift for veterans

On behalf of Manchester VA Medical Center staff and volunteers, I would like to share our appreciation to veterans and their families, and wish them a wonderful holiday season. As a nation, we owe these men and women a debt of gratitude.

At Manchester VA, we begin to repay that debt with care and we are not alone. For veterans and their family members, the unique experiences of the military and transitioning to civilian life can make enjoying the season difficult. You can be there for veterans and their loved ones simply by sharing this support: Veterans Crisis Line, 800-273-8255, press 1.

During this time of year, it is important to remind veterans not to overlook the greatest gift of all: their good health. In New Hampshire, we collaborate with health care providers across the state to deliver veterans the right care in the right place; there is no wrong door for those who have served. VA health care is for all veterans, both men and women, who served our nation. If you know a veteran who’s not yet enrolled for VA health care, encourage them to connect with our enrollment office at 1-800-892-8384, ext. 6779.

Enrolling for VA health care may be the greatest gift a veteran can give their family by assuring their continued good health and well-being.
