Thanks to Audi’s Alchemists – the “Cookie Bakers”

The Audi’s Hospitality Committee, fondly known as the theatre’s “famous cookie bakers,” opened their 28th season of baking and serving refreshments at City Auditorium’s performances with a special thank you luncheon on Aug. 24, hosted by Joanie McIntire. Joanie gets our special thanks for organizing the Audi’s hospitality volunteers, all in addition to her busy realtor work with Coldwell Banker J. Hampe Associates. Serving – and never selling – the treats they prepare and donate, this extraordinary committee has dedicated all donation bowl proceeds to Audi upgrades. They are alchemists, for they transform chocolate chips, brownies, and snickerdoodles into more than $5,000 a season, supporting projects from the earliest stage lighting to the recent seat restoration. In addition, they offer welcoming and smiling hospitality in the reception lobby. In the photo, Joanie McIntire, standing center, welcomes Judy Eliasberg, Barbara Leahy, Loraine Follansbee, and Janet Anderson to the party. They were joined by Kathy Bailey, Sheila Bailey, Jean Barnes, Allwynne Fine, Doris Harrington, George Harrington, Phyllis Harrington, Glorie Jacob, Lou Jacob, Caryl Lajoie, Kathy Lombardi, Barbara Payne, Bob Payne, Sue Simpson, Bev Smith, Lois Thurston, and Karen Thurston, a summertime vanguard of the more than 60 community theatre supporters who all receive our great thanks for their sweet contributions to the Audi season.
