Letter: The war on Republican women

Saturday, July 14, 2018

The war on women is alive and well – Republican women that is.

Sarah Sanders was mocked by late-night comedians and then asked to leave a restaurant.

For doing her job and following the law, Kirstjen Nielsen was harassed while she dined and many followed her back to protest in front of her home.

Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi was harassed at a movie theater showing a Mr. Rogers movie, and Elaine Chao was verbally attacked by leftist radicals whom she neatly put in their place.

The unfunny Samantha Bee called Ivanka Trump a feckless “!”.

Maxine Waters incited citizens to harass any member of the Trump administration. What would a progressive say if a Trump supporter owned a restaurant and asked Maxine Waters to leave?

What would progressives say if a fringe Republican group harassed Nancy Pelosi at a movie or if a comedian called out the physical attributes and appearance of any female Democrat in Congress?

What would have happened if a Republican member of Congress called for everyone to harass any member of the Obama administration? What if a comedian called Michelle Obama the “!” word?

The answer is simple. Sycophants in the press would throw a hissy fit with 24/7 news coverage and pundits calling for firings, censure, prosecution and boycotts. The left would immediately roll out their rhetorical language calling Republicans “haters,” “racists” and “misogynists.”

The hypocritical behavior, demeanor and character of progressives is on full display as they wage their own war on women – Republican women that is!
