■Franklin Halloween Extravaganza, Sat. the 26 th from 2 PM – 6 PM. Activities start at Bessie Rowell with a party; children to age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Costume Parade from the Center to downtown from 3:30 – 3:45; 3:45 – 5:30 Downtown Business Festivities and Trunk or Treat. ■Free Movie to end the day at the Veterans Memorial Ski Area, 266 Flaghole Road Starting at 6 PM. Enjoy a family Halloween movie and the concession stand will be open for dinner.

■Calling all polar bears! Plunge for Paws, a fundraiser for the Franklin Animal Shelter, takes place Nov. 2 from 11 AM – 3 PM. Individual registration $35/Team registration (4) $100. Join the fun and take a leap from Griffin Beach at Webster Lake to support the animal shelter and the many volunteers who give their loving care. Dogs may participate, weather permitting. ■Franklin NH Manufacturing Night, October 25 th at the Elks, 5 – 8:30 PM. The public is invited and no registration is required. Representatives from several area manufacturing facilities will discuss their operations. A speaker will also present “Integrating Manufacturing Into the High School Curriculum.” A light dinner will be available. The event will end with a question/answer period. ■Soup Fest & Franklin Falls Festival takes place Sat. Oct. 26 th from 2 – 6 PM at Marceau Park. This is a fundraiser for Franklin Mayors Drug Task Force. ■Drug Take Back Day Sat. the 26 th from 10 AM – 2 PM at CVS Pharmacy. Clean out your medicine closets and safely dispose of unused drugs. Remember there is always a self-serve drop box inside the main door of the Franklin Police Department.

■Blood Pressure Clinic Tuesday at the TRIP Center, Bessie Rowell Community Center, from 10:30 – 11:30.

■Wayne Blanchard will be at the TRIP Center Friday for support counseling.

■Foot Care Clinic at the VNA Wednesday the 23 rd at their offices at 75 Chestnut Street. Call 934-3454.

■3 Rivers Republican Committee welcomes Representatives of the Congolese Community of United States. October 24th in Washington D.C. an event recognizing the Congolese Genocide will be held. To increase awareness on this issue the CCUS will be presenting an informational program on the forces that led up to the genocide as well as an update on the current situation. This event will be recorded for uploading to the internet for a meeting to be held at Pizza Hut on the 24 th at 7 PM.
