Pantry needs

■The Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry has a critical need for cereal, butter and any dairy products (EXCEPT milk). All non-perishable items are welcome as well. Regular hours are 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesdays. The pantry is located at 2 Central Street, across from Benson Auto. Pre-packed boxes will be handed at the door. If possible, please donate hand sanitizer and disposable gloves to the Food Pantry. If you are able, please consider making a donation to Twin Rivers Interfaith Food Pantry, 2 Central Street, Franklin, NH 03235.

■The Recreation Department has decided to open for essential workers only this summer. The Recreation Department will only be providing care to those families that are working and have no one else at home (such as a friend or a relative) that could care for their child. There are a very limited number of openings so please register ASAP. Children will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested, email kalpers@franklinnh.org and if there are any spaces you will be contacted to register. All field trips and events outside of camp are on hold.

■Absentee ballots for the Sept. 8 primary and on Nov. 3 election are available for downloading at sos.nh.gov. If you are unable to access online, call the City Clerk’s office at 934-3109. You must request one for Sept. 8 and a separate for Nov. 3. Your signature must be witnessed. Mail the form to City Clerk, 316 Central Street, Franklin, NH 03235. Call the City Clerk at 934-3109 with any questions.

■The Thrift Clothes Closet plans to reopen at its new address, across from its previous location, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Masks and gloves are required and will be provided if you don’t bring your own. A limited number of customers and staff volunteers are allowed in the building at one time, as per N.H. state guidelines. Donations are not being accepted at this time, but hopefully soon, and those will be accepted at an off-site location where they will be quarantined for 72 hours prior to volunteers sorting and pricing. The store is unable to accept or sell car seats, large furniture, weapons, batteries, computers, electronics or any product recalled by the U.S. CPSC. Please follow Thrift Clothes Closet on Facebook for photos and updates.

■While cleaning out closets, attics, etc., during this stay-at-home period, please do not toss anything that might be of historical interest to the Franklin Historical Society such as photos, commemorative banners, posters, programs, period clothing or letters, Contact Leigh Webb at 934-8222 and he can guide you on what may be of value.

■If you feel the need to talk to someone during these stressful times, here is a link to a new confidential service called Family Support Warm Line waypointnh.org/programs/the-family-support-warm-line. Share with as many people as you can. Stay safe and keep healthy.

■From City Hall: Please utilize the online system or the main entrance drop box transactions. Contact the City Clerk’s Office at 934-3109 with questions.
