Salvaggio scores twice, UNH men’s hockey earns 6-3 win over RPI

Senior forward Jason Salvaggio scored a pair of goals and the No. 13/15 University of New Hampshire men’s hockey team earned a 6-3 victory over Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on Wednesday night at Houston Field House.

The Wildcats improved to 9-5-1 for the season, including a 5-1 mark in nonconference play.

Shane Eiserman scored for UNH, while Anthony Wyse, Michael McNicholas and Max Gildon also found the back of the net. Danny Tirone stopped 29 shots and Patrick Grasso distributed three assists.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday to take on Army West Point at the Whittemore Center in Durham starting at 7 p.m.
