Letter: Join us, Mr. President

Published: 2/9/2019 12:01:29 AM

Unity is more than a word; it is the spirit of the interconnection of all things.

Walling off one group of people from another is the antithesis of unification. Separating families and saying it is too complex to reunite them is immoral. Ignoring the threats of gun violence, corporate greed and climate change is criminally negligent.

A leader who says he is above investigation is a tyrant. A free press is a precious safeguard of our democracy, not an enemy of the state.

Come off your high horse, Mr. President. Cut down on your so-called “executive time,” stop threatening government shutdowns to fund your pet projects and join the rest of us common folk.
