An early morning fire destroyed a Mount Dearborn Road home in Weare on Sunday and displaced its owner.

The owner, who was inside and sleeping about 1 a.m., escaped before firefighters arrived, according to the Weare Fire Department.

The two-story, wood-framed home at 363 Mount Dearborn Road is owned by Thomas Frisella, Weare assessing assistant Wendy Rice said.

Neither the homeowner nor any fire personnel were injured in the fire.

Fire crews from Weare and surrounding towns reported to the home in the nighttime hours to find it fully engulfed in flames. Weare Assistant Fire Chief Robert Richards called a second alarm, according to a press release, and crews hauled water from a nearby pond.

The Red Cross reported that it met with the man to ensure he has a safe place to sleep, as well as food and clothing.

Mount Dearborn Road is located between routes 114 and 149, near the center of town.

Goffstown, Henniker, Bow, New Boston, Francestown, Hillsboro and Dunbarton provided mutual aid.

Frisella could not be reached Monday. Vezina did not return a phone call for comment.
