Letter: Bow, Dunbarton are well-served by Woods

I am supporting Gary Woods for re-election to the House of Representatives in the upcoming election.

Gary has been an orthopedic surgeon in our community for many years before retiring and devoting his time to serving our community in the political arena. He has also held positions with the New Hampshire Medical Society, the American Medical Society, and the American Society for the Surgery of the Hand. So it makes sense that the commissions he’s served on in the House are related to the environment and the effect it has on New Hampshire citizens’ health. The commissions he’s been appointed to have dealt with environmentally triggered chronic diseases, health impacts of perfluorinated chemicals, testing for Lyme and tick-borne diseases, and greenhouse gas emissions.

More recently he has helped pass legislation as a member of the Health and Human Services Committee that has allowed your doctors and mental health professionals to be able to offer you telehealth visits to keep you safe in the pandemic and still allow you to access services.

Gary is also working on legislation in regard to quality public education, paid family medical leave, support for small businesses and a minimum wage, as well as responsible energy use and fair taxes. I know he works tirelessly to help his constituents in Bow and Dunbarton, and that is why I will vote for him again this election cycle and hope you will too.
