BowOrder poinsettias

Bow Garden Club members are currently taking orders for these always-beautiful poinsettia plants that will be provided by D.S. Cole in Loudon again this year. Orders are due by Nov. 1. Poinsettias are available in red, white or pink in either 8-inch or 10-inch pots. The smaller plant contains three poinsettia stems and measures approximately 24 inches across and the larger plant contains four poinsettia stems and is approximately 36 inches across. Prices are $26 and $36, respectively. The pick-up date will be Dec. 4 from 9 a.m.to noon at the Bow Community Center, 3 Bow Center Road. Mail-in order forms are available from the bulletin boards located in the foyers of both the Baker Free Library and the Community Center. Orders can also be placed by email or phone by contacting Joyce Kimball, 229-1990 or joyceakimball@comcast.net or through any Bow Garden Club member. Orders must be received by Nov. 1.

New LondonWine and trivia dinner

The Center for the Arts announces their Holiday Wine and Trivia Dinner on Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at the New London Inn Coach House Restaurant. Enjoy a delightful evening with a delicious four course meal with wine pairings, and trivia between courses, all to raise money for the CFA Arts Education Fund. The Center for the Arts Arts Education Fund provides grants to local teachers and schools to facilitate active participation in the arts. The fund was established to encourage teachers and administrators to create projects that will not only expose students to the arts but also inspire students to think creatively. The CFA Arts Education Fund has helped to support numerous art, performing, and literary projects including the KRES Shakespeare Project, the Portsmouth Brass Quintet, the East Bay Jazz Ensemble, Woodwind Music of the King’s Court, the Ox-Cart Kids Poetry Club, Native American programs, and the KRHS Labyrinth Project, as well as many Online and Teacher-led Community Projects. Reservations can be made online at centerfortheartsnh.org/wine-dinner or at 526-2791. Tables of four, six, or eight are available as well as individual reservations. The cost of the meal is $99 and up. Reserve early as space is limited. In addition to the Wine and Trivia Dinner, the CFA is holding their annual Holiday Auction online Nov. 1 through Nov. 15 with the final bidding on remaining items at the Holiday Dinner itself on Nov. 16. Thanks to generous donors, this year’s Auction includes great gifts including Tubbs Snowshoes, Fraser Home Fragrances, Gift Certificates, Wine, Winter, Yoga, and Holiday Baskets galore, as well as beautiful 10x10 works of art by renowned regional artists, offered for $100 each! ConcordOld-time piano

The Walker Lecture Series invites you to an Old-Time Piano Concert on Nov. 3 at 7:30 p.m. at the Concord City Auditorium, 2 Prince St. Adam Swanson is one of the world’s foremost performers of vintage American popular music, including ragtime, early jazz, and the Great American Songbook.  He is the only four-time winner of the World Championship Old-Time Piano Playing Contest.
