Hopkinton Students perform Shakespeare play

Students at Hopkinton High School will perform the Shakespeare comedy, As You Like It, on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. The story is about two brothers; one who is banished to a forest by the other, whose goal is to take over his brother’s land. This play comes together in a happy ending with lots of surprising twists along the way. The drama department will be selling tickets for $8 at the door for adults, and $5 for students and seniors. Derry Majestic drama performs ‘Aladdin’

Children and teens of Majestic Academy of Dramatic Arts will perform Aladdin Jr. A thief falls in love with a princess and uses a genie’s magic to turn himself into a prince in order to marry her. The performances will take place on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Derry Opera House. Tickets for adults are $15, $13 for seniors 65 and older, and $10 for children 17 and under. For more information, visit majestictheatre.net.

Hopkinton Tales from the grave

The Hopkinton Historical Society will host a cemetery walk Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Contoocook Village Cemetery. Actors will portray residents from the early 20th century who were soldiers and suffragists, farmers and immigrants, and the town doctor. Visitors will move to each gravesite, so appropriate shoes and a folding chair are recommended. Tickets are $10 for historical society members, $15 for nonmembers.
