During the month of March, Canterbury Elementary School celebrated “I Love to Read” Month. Various parents volunteered to read to the second-grade class.

Terri Bailey read Mike Mulligan and his Steam Shovel. The story ends with Mike Mulligan digging the cellar for the new town hall. As it turns out, Canterbury is getting a new town office and the excavator that is digging the basement was at the school for the children to see excavator after the story was finished.
