All Dressbarn stores will be going the way of the one in Concord, which closed its Steeplegate Mall location last year.

Dressbarn, known for mid-priced casual women’s attire, has been in business for nearly six decades. Parent company Ascena Retail Group announced Monday it will be closing all its stores, more than 600, including the eight in New Hampshire, at an undisclosed date.

“All Dressbarn stores are open and conducting business as usual, as is Dressbarn’s e-commerce site,” the company said in a press release. “Customers can continue to shop at Dressbarn in-store and online and use Dressbarn-branded credit cards for purchases. There are no current changes to Dressbarn’s return, refund, or gift card policies.”

The company said it employs about 6,800 people.

Dressbarn is the latest national retailer to scale back or shut down in the face of changing shopping habits.

The Steeplegate store was located alongside what was formerly part of the Bon-Ton apparel store, which will be open as The Zoo gym this summer.
