A pick-up truck pulling a motorcycle trailer caught fire Friday morning on Interstate 93 in Bow, slowing northbound traffic for nearly two hours.
There were no serious injuries to the five people in the truck, which was totally engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived, said Bow fire captain Tom Ferguson. It took about 15 minutes to get the fire under control. The flames were put out before they reached the trailer, which held two motorcycles and other equipment.
Firefighters responded to the call about 9:30 a.m. and the fire was out by 9:50 a.m., Ferguson said. All lanes were reopened by 11:15 a.m. The fire occurred in the area of mile marker 32. The cause was undetermined, but Ferguson said it was “probably a mechanical issue.”
Firefighters from Hooksett assisted Bow.
