A Concord woman was carried off Mount Kearsarge on Sunday morning after injuring her leg.

An emergency call came in around 8:30 on Sunday morning that Lee Lewis, 54, of Concord suffered a lower leg injury while hiking down the Barlow Trail after summiting Mount Kearsarge in Warner, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game.

Lewis was hiking with her family who called 911. Firefighters from the Hopkinton Fire Department and Warner Fire and Rescue Department responded and began carrying Lee down the mountain in a litter. Several Conservation Officers also responded to help carry Lewis the ¾ of a mile back to the trailhead on Kearsarge Mountain Road.

The Barlow Trail spans about 1.4 miles from the parking area to the summit and is less steep than the more direct Winslow Trail.

Lewis was taken to Concord Hospital by the Hopkinton Fire Department ambulance.
