Girls’ Soccer

Bow 4, Merrimack Valley 2

Key players: Bow – Cara Van Dyke (goal), Zoe Lupien (first varsity goal), Leah Gallier (game-winning goal), Lexana Farr (goal), Lexi Insana (assist), Jaeden Kennedy (assist), Gabby Tarsa (assist) , Brylie Gelinas (assist), Gwen Barrieau (goalie), Anna Fellers (defense), Madison Pfister (defense), Abby Foote (defense), Anna Zerba (midfield), Ella Murphy (forward)

Highlights: Van Dyke scored six minutes into the match on a nice through ball pass from Insana. The freshman duo of Kennedy and Lupien connected for a 2-0 lead 19 minutes later with Kennedy laying off a ball to Lupien who hit a one-touch shot into the low corner, but the Pride tied the game, 2-2, by halftime. In the second half, Gallier hit a looping shot that found its way into the net and Farr sealed the game in the 70th minute at the far post off a great cross from Gelinas.

Boys’ Soccer

Key players: Concord – Dean Ayotte (11 saves), Jonah Gaby, Sadiki Rukumbuzi. 

Highlights: The Crimson Tide fell behind 1-0 at halftime against the first place team.

Field Hockey

Merrimack Valley 2, Plymouth 0

Key players: MV – Alyssa Brodeur (goal), Lauren Bailey (goal), Kaiya Mercier (assist), Caroline Wheeler (defense), Ashely Winn (defense)

Highlights: Brodeur scored six minutes into the first quarter from a pass from Mercier. MV drew a penalty corner just as time ran out  in the first quarter and Bailey scored off a rebound from the Plymouoth goalie. MV and Plymouth both drew six penalty corners. The Pride had 10 shots on goal to Plymouth’s seven. This is the first game where the Bobcats have allowed a goal all season.

Highlights: The Giants won a four-team match hosted by John Stark at Angus Lea Golf Course. Fortier earned medalist honors for the second time this season, while Brisson and Boule tied for second.

Highlights: Dalbec won the 3.2 mile race in 17:12, but the Hawks placed four in the top eight and seven in the top 15 to win a six-team meet at Belmont. Kearsarge, White Mountains and Moultonborough competed, but did not have enough runners to score as a team.

Laconia 38, ConVal 41, John Stark 41

Key players: John Stark – Austin Patenaude (1st, 18:56), Gavin Arel (7th, 21:30), Shane Brunini (8th, 21:32), Evan Furness (12th, 22:19), Austin Freeman (13th, 22:40)

Highlights: Patenaude crossed the finish line first to defend his home course, but the Generals narrowly finished third after losing the tiebreaker to ConVal.

John Stark 18, ConVal 40

Highlights: The Generals won a three-team meet on their home course. Laconia only had two runners, short of the five needed for a team score.

The Hawks place three runners in the top four and five in the top seven. Winnisquam, Moultonborough, White Mountains and Inter-Lakes competed, but did not have enough runners to score.
