Boys’ Soccer

Hillsboro-Deering 7, Manchester West 4

Key players: H-D – Mason Ferwerda (3 goals, 2 assists), Brady Curly (3 goals), Dylan Braun (goal, 2 assists), Alex Crowe (assist), Braden Savoy (5 saves, including a penalty save)

Highlights: After going down 2-0, the Hillcats fought back to take the lead, dominating possession. Ferwerda’s hat trick included his 50th career goal.

Highlights: Dickson hit a shot from 25 yards out that went right into the bottom right corner midway through the second half.

Key players: Coe-Brown – Abbey Franke (2 goals), Bella Lapierre (goal), Jaelyn Demers (goal), Alyviah Blad (2 assists), Lily Wolf (assist), Somer Loto (assist), Maggie Escabi (assist), Sadie Scruton (2 saves), Jennifer Noni (midfield), Avery Wells (defense), Bella Tenney (defense), Jadyn Spearin (midfield)

Highlights: Franke scored on a header in the 17th minute for the Bears off a corner kick from Blad. Franke added another goal late in the first half. Escabi connected with Demers for the third goal of the game, while the duo of Loto and Wolf linked passes to assist on the goal by Lapierre.

Coach’s quote: “We needed a good result in a week with three games, so the win is huge for the team as we move forward. We have to play again in 24 hours at D-I Spaulding so we can only enjoy this win tonight and we turn our attention to the next opponent. We were able to see some good play from many players today and we keep growing with each game.” – Coe-Brown’s Josh Hils

Hopkinton 3, Derryfield 2

Key players: Hopkinton  – Paige Prisco-Nelson (goal, assist), Keegan St. Cyr (goal), Avery Chase (goal), Annie Morrall (assist), Maeve Owens (defense)

Highlights: The Cougars scored first, but the Hawks overcame two one-goal deficits to claim the win.

Key players: Concord – Gavin Richardson (36), Carl Sirrianna (37), Alex Pelletier (38), Brett McDonough (38), Griffin Norwalt (38), Dawson Fancher (40), Jordan Dustin (40), Zach Nelson (42)

Highlights: The Crimson Tide dominated its senior match at Concord Country Club, with Concord golfers posting the eight lowest scores.

Records: Concord 20-1; Merrimack 3-13; Nashua South 0-19

Timberlane 200, Merrimack Valley 208, Hollis-Brookline 233

Key players: MV – Andrew Surprenant (37), Matt Lauren (42), Isaak Davis (42), Michael Kingsbury (43), Trevor Cote (45)

Highlights: Surprenant recorded another strong finish, and Lauren and Davis provided strong support as the Pride split a match against the Cavaliers and Owls to end the regular season at The Overlook. MV now waits for the rest of the Division II regular season to conclude to see if the Pride qualify for the D-II team championship on Oct. 10. The Pride is currently in seventh place.

Key players: Coe-Brown – Alex Myslinsky (20 points), Hunter Demas (19 points), Joe Fenton (18 points), Braden Burt (15 points)

Highlights: The Bears wrapped up their regular season by splitting a tri-meet at home at Nippo Lake. Stark ended its season with a pair of losses.
