A Northfield man sustained “serious life-threatening injuries” after his ATV struck a tree Thursday evening, according to New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.
Ricky Danforth, 35, “was driving his ATV home from a neighbor’s house when he unintentionally departed the neighbor’s driveway and entered the woods. He struck a tree and was ejected from his machine and sustained serious life-threatening injuries,” according to Fish and Game
Danforth was taken via ambulance to Concord Hospital. The accident is still under investigation.
“Speed does not appear to be a factor, but the operator was not wearing a helmet and some of the injuries could have been prevented if proper protective gear was worn,” the department said in a press release.
