High school rankings: Hopkinton boys’ lacrosse ends championship season as top team

TEAM (last week’s rank)

1. HOPKINTON BOYS’ LAX (3)  capped a 17-0 season with a 13-6 win against Laconia in Saturday’s Division III championship.

2. BOW GIRLS’ TENNIS (1)  lost its top three from last year but still went undefeated on its way to back-to-back D-III titles.

3. JOHN STARK SOFTBALL (8) led by hot bats and pitcher Izzy Nelson, the Generals won the D-II title over Coe-Brown.

4. CONCORD SOFTBALL (10)  rallied from four runs down for a 5-4 extra-inning win in the D-I final vs. Spaulding to finish 18-3.

5. BOW BOYS’ TENNIS (2)  won the program’s first title since 2002 with a 7-2 win vs. rival Gilford in the D-III final.

6. LACONIA GIRLS’ LAX (6)  claimed their third championship in four years with a 10-6 win in the D-III final against Hopkinton.

7. HOPKINTON GIRLS’ LAX (4) reached the first semifinal and final in program history before losing to Laconia to finish 15-2.

8. LACONIA BOYS’ LAX (5) went 15-2 this season with both losses coming against two-time defending champion Hopkinton.

9. BELMONT SOFTBALL (NR) held an early lead but fell in the D-III final to three-time champ White Mountains, 4-1, to go 15-5.

10. COE-BROWN SOFTBALL (RV)  reached the D-III final as a No. 8 seed before falling to John Stark to end up 14-6.
