The McAuliffe Shepard Discovery Center will host Sally Jensen’s talk “Back to the Moon and on to Mars” on Friday at 7 p.m. during their November Super Stellar Friday event. Every first Friday of the month the Discovery Center is open from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. with special programming, a Tonight’s Sky Planetarium Show, and stargazing, weather permitting.

“Back to the Moon and on to Mars” by Jensen will delve into the Moon, what it is and how it affects our lives. What if the moon did not exist? Sally Jensen will review how we explored the moon, how we landed on the moon, and how the moon will factor into our future endeavors to explore Mars. Participants will be able to make a moon calendar showing all of the phases for the 2019 year as well as participate in other moon activities put on by the Discovery Center. Jensen is a NASA Solar System Ambassador and gives presentations to the public and teachers on various space exploration topics.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m.. The evening’s feature presentation begins at 7 p.m, followed by an optional Tonight’s Sky planetarium show. Recommended for ages 8 and older. The all-inclusive price for Super-Stellar Fridays is free for members, $11.50 for adults, $10.50 seniors and students and $8.50 for children; children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
