Johnny Appleseed Fall Festival

‘Aida’

What: An HD broadcast of the Met’s live production of “Aida.” An enslaved Nubian princess finds her heart entangled with an Egyptian soldier who is betrothed to the Pharaoh’s daughter. As their love blossoms, she must weigh her heart’s desire against her responsibility as the leader of her people.

Bernie Lambek

What: Author Bernie Lambek will share his first novel, “Uncivil Liberties,” a legal whodunit set in Montpellier.

Robert Hunter

What: Musician and author Robert Hunter will share songs from his album “Revival” and stories from his book “Relapse: A Love Story.” “Relapse” careens through shaman-led weddings, car heists that lead to strange prophesies, and the inner workings of a mind rife with possibility and absolutely unaffected by the moonshine, thank you very much. Is it relapse, or is it revival?

When and Where: Sunday at 6 p.m. at Winnipesaukee Playhouse, Meredith, and Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Gibson’s Bookstore, Concord

Cost: The Meredith event is $25 in advance and $30 at door, which includes a copy of the book. The Concord event has no charge; the book is for sale for $15.95

Manhattan Short Film Fest

What: More than 350 cinemas will screen the nine finalists of the year-long film competition; viewers will be able to vote for their favorite.

Oh, What a Night!

What: Interlakes Summer Theatre will perform a musical tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Season. Listen to singers Will Stephan Connell, Nick Moulton, Laurence Katz, Jared Thomas Roberts and Brandon Timmons with an eight-piece band.
