Joseph Olshan

What: Olshan is the author of several books including his first, “Clara’s Heart,” which became a major motion picture starring Whoopi Goldberg and a very young Neil Patrick Harris. For his past two books he has switched genres going from literary fiction to literary mystery with “Cloudland” and “Black Diamond Fall,” both of which are set in Vermont and both based on real incidents that happened in that state.

Jamie Kallestad

What: Kallestad, a Minnesota-based bluegrass songwriter/vocalist/guitarist, will be the featured performer at the Andover Community Coffeehouse open mic.

Improv Olympics

What: A comedic improv show to benefit Meredith-area nonprofits in the style of “Who’s Line is it Anyway?”

Performance Lab

Concord Multicultural Festival and Welcome Week

What: An International Flag Parade with flags from nearly 50 countries – all representative of the people who live in the Capital Region, more than 20 local food and craft vendors, more than five hours of music and dance performed by local artists, hands-on engaging activities for all ages and traditional arts demonstrations by state artists.

When: Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Autumn Craft Show

What: Local arts and crafts including hand painted feather art, birch bark paintings, soy candles, jewelry, primitive wooden furniture and dolls, gorgeous quilts and table runners, ceramic inlaid creations, amazing hand painted glassware, wildlife photography, doggie accessories, seasonal florals, home and garden decor, pottery, recycled wine bottle snowmen and much more.

Magic Dick and Shun Ng

What: Magic Dick, the harmonica player for Boston’s legendary J. Geils Band has recently partnered up with guitar and vocal sensation, Shun Ng, to create one of the most dynamic musical acts to come out of Boston in a long time. The music is soulful blues, rockin’ yet thoughtful.

When: Friday, 7:30 p.m.
