A Concord man is facing three felony charges after police said he assaulted another man while holding a handgun at the Christ the King Food Pantry Tuesday evening.

Bluestone Rhau, 48, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threatening with a deadly weapon, and reckless conduct with a deadly weapon, according to authorities.

Around 7:30 p.m., officers were called to the food pantry at 67 South State St. for a report of an assault, police said.

When officers arrived, they found a man who had head injuries and who told them he had been assaulted by a man holding a handgun, according to authorities.

Police searched the area, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed video surveillance footage. They were able to identify Rhau as the suspect, police said.

Rhau was found at a home on Perley Street and arrested there. Police also searched the house, they said.

Rhau was taken to the Concord Police Department and processed. He requested a bail commissioner, and was held on preventative detention. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Concord District Court on Wednesday, police said.

The department is continuing to investigate the incident. Anyone who may know something is asked to contact the criminal investigations division at (603) 225-8600. Tips can also be submitted via the Concord Regional Crimeline at (603) 226-3100 or at www.concordregionalcrimeline.com.
