Letter: Life with dignity

I am disappointed that people have to fight another tough fight to end life with dignity when suffering so much already. I will share my experience to explain. I have been diagnosed with gbm glioblastoma terminal brain cancer for 8 years now. I have done the clinical trial and am still have but there is no cure so instead of doing a bunch of treatments that don’t cure my cancer I will continue to suffer when it comes back.

I would prefer at my age to make a different choice when no cure remains. I would rather end my life with dignity and not lave a bunch of medical bills or my family to pay or for them to have remember me so ill and in pain if doctors agree there is no cure and no more to do and being in sound mind and an adult what is the problem? This is not a terrible thing. I’m sure if I was your family member or you yourself, you would not wish anyone to suffer. Please pass this bill HB 1283.
