If you haven’t yet made your way over to the Hatbox Theatre at the Steeplegate Mall, you best plan a visit before the election.
Through Nov. 6, the theatre has been hosting Candid Candidate, a political farce by Londonderry’s Donald Tongue.
The play chronicles the campaigns of Arizona Sen. Bob Roberts and Texas Gov. John McCoy in the lead up to the New Hampshire primary after emerging as winners of the Iowa caucus.
With their political fortunes on the rise, a victory in New Hampshire could help them land their parties’ nomination . . . and the White House.
However, a candid moment imperils their campaigns and leaves them fighting for political survival.
In the end, the vote is up to the audience. Good practice for the upcoming general election.
Since Candid Candidate was performed at the Leddy Center in Epping, it has undergone significant updates and has a new ending.
Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. until Nov. 6. Tickets are $16.50, or $13.50 for Hatbox Theatre members. For more information, visit hatboxnh.com.
