Nikita Khrushchev, 1956, “We will take America without firing a shot. We will destroy you from within.” Over 65 years, the left has purposefully permeated many of our social institutions. It has come to a tipping point with academia’s Critical Race Theory. CRT’s assumes that “racism” exists in every aspect of our social structure. It is antithetical to the civil rights movement as it uses a free society to highlight and create the illusion of inequity enabling radical racial identity politics. This theory concentrates only on “socially constructed groups” and shuns the individual, looking for racism in every situation.
Supporters believe anyone who disagrees with this theory must be racist and a white supremacist, even if they are Black. That kind of thinking is totalitarian in nature and the left uses this as intimidation to control the narrative and silence debate. CRT assumes that only subjective experience is valid and the “truth,” and it creates confirmation bias which indoctrinates and allows a person to “see” racism everywhere. Objectivity is ignored and dismissed. Reality is created through false rhetoric, platitudes and dogma. CRT is riddled with cognitive distortions like over generalization, creating false equivalencies, all or nothing thinking, labeling, emotional reasoning, discounting positives, blaming and catastrophizing. Moreover, “critical thinking” theories like CRT have their roots in Marxism. Although HB 544 is not the right answer, parents need to get together and ensure that CRT is not taught in our schools. It is nothing short of political indoctrination.
