It seems President Biden is ignoring the violence in the Middle East, as his policy seems to be fully backing Netanyahu and condemning the Palestinians. This is a completely one sided policy and goes against our long term policy of a two nation solution. This pro-Israeli policy is stirring some opposition from some of the newer elected Democrats. Our president must forge a more two sided story and treat the Palestinians as equal partners rather than enemies. If our long range policy of a two nation solution has any chance of success, we have to follow a policy of equality and even handedness between the two hostile parties.
The Israeli right had been vastly empowered in occupied East Jerusalem during the Trump presidency. The president understandably wants to focus on his liberal domestic issues and he seems to want to treat the Middle East as a distraction. He preaches to Netanyahu, who ignores the advice as he continues to crush the Palestinians. The president needs to reexamine our present policy and move it to a more balanced approach. The more balanced approach could lead to negations, but our pro-Israeli bias will lead us to more Israelis moving to Palestine and eventually overwhelming the Palestinians who will slowly disappear as an all-Israeli dominance will soon be achieved. We desperately need a more balanced Middle East policy and the sooner the better.
