Dear Gov. Sununu, I am writing in reply to your letter dated May 25, 2021 in which you asked I do you the favor of voting for Chris Lins in the special election on June 8. For decades I have been registered as an independent, strongly believing in voting for the best candidate regardless party affiliation. Due to the reactions, responses, remarks and overall Republican sentiments regarding the irresponsible behavior of President Trump and the U. S. capitol insurrectionists, I will be registering as a Democrat during the next presidential election.

When Congresswoman Liz Cheney voiced her objections of President Trump’s actions and his false allegations of a rigged election, she was stripped of her position of power by a large Republican majority. For that reason, even if a future Republican candidate for a position is better than the Democratic candidate, I will still vote for the Democratic candidate because it is likely that the majority of issues promoted by the Republican candidate will not be backed by a majority of Republicans. For those reasons I did not do you the requested favor of voting for Chris Lins.
