World leaders are gathering in Glasgow for the United Nations Climate Change Conference to negotiate how to reduce global carbon emissions quickly enough to avoid the worst effects of climate change. At stake is what kind of future we leave to our children. But climate action is not just the responsibility of national leaders, it is our responsibility. We need to elect leaders at all levels of government who will confront climate change and embrace the opportunities in climate action.

The climate issue is central to the race between Stacey Brown and Mark Coen to succeed Rob Werner as Concord Ward 5 City Councilor. Rob has been a great representative for Ward 5 and a true environmental leader. Stacey is the right person to carry on Robโ€™s legacy. Staceyโ€™s life experiences will inform her perspective as a councilor. She is a New Hampshire native, a wife, a mom of two children in the Concord school system, an Army veteran and a former intelligence officer. She served on the board of the Merrimack River Greenway Trail and volunteers in the schools. She strongly supports Concordโ€™s goal of 100% renewable energy and moving Concord toward sustainability, as demonstrated in her recent Monitor My Turn. There is an enormous difference between the candidates on the climate issue and other issues. Rob, who served with Mark Coen on the council, has endorsed Stacey in this race. Ward 5 should be represented by a councilor who will help move Concord forward. That councilor is Stacey Brown.
