Build Back Better and For the People are fever dreams of Democrats and progressives which will result in centralized government autocratic control over the rights of states and the people. Few people have an issue with the child tax credit, improving roads and bridges, funding to repair low-income housing, college grants for low-income students, a reasonable tax deduction for pre-K or daycare, a couple weeks of paid family leave or even funding of Medicaid home care. 2,465 pages and over 440,000 words hide partisan intent and radical initiatives ready to be thrust upon Americans.
โTree equity,โ re-establishing the CCC, tax deductions for union dues, hiring of 87,000 new IRS agents at a cost of $80 billion, universal pre-school (government takeover), a $900 credit for buying an e-bike. Voting rights legislation is little more than a tool for Democrats to establish an advantage in upcoming elections, creating an opportunity for fraud. It has little to do with โdemocracy.โ Ballot harvesting, drop boxes, no check on signatures or ID, increase in same-day registration, registration of ineligible voters, allowing felons to vote, blocking the updating of voter rolls, limits on legal challenges to H.R.1, automatic registration of individuals are a few things in a bill rife with opportunity to cheat. These bills were written by partisan, ideological policy wonks and lobbyists. Democrats having the slimmest of majority in both houses need to work with Republicans on reasonable, meaningful legislation and drop the ideological gluttony.
